I noticed that the 0.6mm BCnozzle is brass but the XT CF20 says it requires a steel nozzle. Am I correct in thinking that I cannot print with this material on the sigma (as there is no steel nozzle option)?

I think you are right luke1 the carbon filler is very abrasive and it will eat up the brass nozzle. I think its a good idea to ask BCN3D to make a hardened steel nozzle series for abrasive filaments.
There are companies like E3D who make hardened nozzles but you would have to buy the whole assembly of nozzle, heat break, heatsink and print an adapter to fit it on the Sigma. I would love to try some on the Sigma my self!

I’m sure a little while ago that BCN3D had a post about some hardened nozzles. One a side note I did see this the other day which looked to get E3D hotends on the Sigma.

Are the E3D nozzles compatible with the BCN3D hot ends?
Or can a E3D hot end be mounted in the BCN3D carriage?

Very well designed! I wonder if the hotend fan mount of the E3D makes the printer quieter also the layer fan looks interesting, maybe worth a shot

The guy who has done this is on Twitter @jfsema. He did comment that the fan noise was a lot less. He also posted up an example of the fan as it seems decent 24v fans are hard to come by.

He is using that 30mm fans:
    fan 30mm
    http://www.wedo3dprinting.com/printer-parts/97-12v-cooling-fans.html
Speed is 5500 rpm and the current fan speed in the Sigma is 8.000rpm so are supposed to be quiter.
I have ordered two of them just to try. You can also order it in ebay:
